Introduction
If you don’t learn how to pick good keywords you will not make a lot of money.  We use key words to get our sites and articles to rank high in the search engines.  You need to build a list of keywords for the niche you have chosen so that you can find a key word phrase for the product you have decided to market.  The thing to remember is that when choosing keywords you will find that some keywords will have a lot of results in the search engines – for example “what is blogging?” could have a result of 200,000 searches in the search engines while “make money blogging” will have 20,000 searches – a lower result in the search engines.

Keywords that have a lower results
It is better to go for keywords that have lower results than keywords that have high results because keywords with high results have a lot of competition, so it will be harder for you to get ranked high in the search engine listings for these keywords and keyword phrases.

Let me explain further: let’s say you are selling an ebook about house training boxer dogs – if you choose the keywords  “dog training” then you will probably find a lot of people looking through the search engine listing for dog training.  I put the keyword phrase “dog training” into the google adsense keyword tool and it came up with 100 different keywords and keyword phrases containing the words “dog training”.  I have taken a small snapshot of a few of the different groups of people who are using the keywords “dog training” to find information.  See picture below.

You can see from the picture that most of these groups will have no use for an ebook about house training boxer dogs, so even though the keywords “dog training” has a lot of people using this term to find information, and you may get a lot of people looking at your website, you are not going to make many sales because the term is too broad for the niche you have chosen. You need to make your keywords and keyword phrases more targeted – for example I have circled in red the keyword phrase “boxer dog training” which has a global monthly search of 1,900 which is not a lot – however, you will probably get more sales with this keyword phrase than you would with dog training because this group is looking for information about training boxer dogs.

Choose keywords 1,500 to 12,000
Try to choose keywords and keyword phrases that have more than 1,500 searches but less than 12,000 searches – these will have less competition giving you a better chance of ranking high in the search engine listings.  However, this is not a hard and fast rule, you could pick a keyword or keyword phrase that has 1,000 searches or one that has 15,000 searches: it really depends on the niche you have chosen and your experience in choosing keywords and keyword phrases, but if you keep 1,500 to 12,000 searches as your guide you will not go far wrong.

A good keyword
A good keyword or keyword phrase to have is what is called a buying keyword or buying keyword phrase: for example “camcorders best buy” or “buy my mobile”.  With these types of keywords people are in the mood for buying, so it will make it easier for you to get sales.  Keywords and keyword phrases which include the name of a product, for example “Cannon Ixus 130″ which is a Cannon camera, people will be looking for this camera in the search engines so it is a good keyword phrase for you to have if you are selling cameras.  However, you still need to ask yourself how competitive the  keyword “Cannon Ixus 130″ is and try to make your keywords and keyword phrases more targeted to your niche with low competition.

Conclusion
Try to learn the words or jargon that people use in the niche that you are marketing to – for example your niche could be genealogy but the jargon or keywords people are using to search for information or products in this niche could be “family tree” or “family history”.  What you need to do is try to put yourself in the place of the person who is looking for this information, try to think like they think.  People don’t always think the way you think so try to think outside the box when searching for keywords and keyword phrases: for example if you are looking for keywords to do with weight loss, you could use the keyword phrase “how 2 lose weight fast” which, by the way, has a global monthly search of 22,200.

I suppose that the question is does this product work and can John Thornhill take you from a complete newbie to an ebay PowerSeller in 90 days?  Well I have bought the product I have used it and I know that the product can and does work.  Can this product make you a PowerSeller on ebay?  The answer to this question is definitely yes – there is no doubt in my mind that this product can make you a PowerSeller; however, can this product help you achieve it in 90 days?  I think the answer to this question is that it depends on how motivated you are at putting it into action and how much money you have to spend; after all, you will need to pay to put the products on ebay.  However, giving John Thornhill a fair appraisal, in his defence he does provide you with hundreds of ebooks to sell on ebay and a ready-made website at no extra cost.

My summing up of the product
This product is probably one of the best products on the internet at this moment in time.  I bought it a few years ago and was not disappointed in any way – in fact I cannot say enough about this product, it really does work – not only that, but John Thormhill gives it his full support to help you get your project off the ground as well as having a support forum run by people who have bought the product.

In my estimation it is well worth the  $97 you spend and if you are interested in building a business on ebay selling ebooks then this is the product I would recommend.  In fact, if you know nothing about selling ebooks on ebay then you cannot afford NOT to buy this product!  It will save you time and money in the long run and you will avoid costly mistakes.
